After leaving breakfast, we loaded up and headed to the lake. Our friend generously loaned his cute boat last year and it was the highlight of camp, so we added it to the list again. Even though the high was supposed to be 108, we headed out!
It was so hot! The place we had in mind for lunch was closed and we headed out across the lake to Sneaky Pete’s. We were delightfully surprised after unloading that they had a pool outside the restaurant with picnic tables surrounding it! We were able to jump in, cool off, order our food, definitely a win, win deal and Ricky and I were loving it! There were very few people there, nobody in the pool, and I thought to myself if I was a young mother meeting friends for lunch, I would definitely add this to my list! Ricky and I were all about camping out here a while, the water was cool, people were willing to bring us food and beverage, but it wasn’t long before the little campers were ready to hop back in the boat! We headed back across the lake, stopping to swim, cool off, ride the tube, and made our way back to a spot where they could feed their leftover chicken and fries to the catfish and ducks.
Last year, our middle camper, Beau, loved the lake! This year, not so much. He didn’t want fish to brush up against him, didn’t want to drive the boat, but he was such a good sport and enjoyed the ride! This year we found out he is gluten-intolerant and that presented a whole new challenge with the food situation! Eating is not the highlight of H&T Camp, much to mine and Ricky’s disappointment, and we eat a lot of taquitos, potstickers, chicken tenders and french fries!
We ended this adventure with a trip to the son-cone stand!
I think that night we watched the Rangers, played, pretty much crashed!
The next day was spent going to the Lego and Disney store. They boys got a couple of Lego sets and Betsy got some “people” at the Disney store. Tatu gathered up the things we would need for the boys big scuba adventure. We went to Pole Position later and Brady drove a car around the track, I don’t really get it, but apparently it’s fun.
Okay, seriously, I can’t imagine that you are still reading, but I’m stopping. Our big scuba adventure and end of camp party soon, I know you are waiting on pins and needles! I figured out, blogging is kind of like scrap-booking, something I would NEVER have the patience for, or something like that! See you soon!
